Hurricane Harvey Mariachi Benefit Performance

With Houston Stand Web.jpg

Over the last week, the people of our great state of Texas are suffering the aftermath of damaged homes and property.

All over the internet, there are stories and videos of brave individuals who are risking and sacrificing their lives to help their fellow fallen man.

Even still, a week later, families and individuals are working tirelessly around the clock repairing their cities and bringing normality back to their lives. Without a doubt, the journey will not be easy and it won’t happen over night.

Many members of the band have close friends and family members who were and still are affected by the disruption Harvey.

It is with great honor to announce that we have partnered with Emo Nite Dallas for a benefit performance that will help raise funds for those affected by the disruption of Hurricane Harvey.
Join us this Friday and rock out to some  popular rock tunes in the style of Mariachi

Below are a few clips from our set on Sept. 9, 2017

New Era Competes at Lone Star Park (Video)

It was an intense, yet wonderful experience on the evening of Saturday October 18, 2014. We participated in a mariachi competition at the Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. Canales Furniture/Muebleria invited several mariachi bands across the the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro-Plex to compete for the grand prize of $1000. We went head to head with many talented mariachi bands.

Unfortunately, we experienced our first defeat in the final round. Many of the selections we performed included some of our favorite traditional songs such as; Fiesta Del Mariachi and El Son Del Sapo. We also decided to throw in some our popular and latest alternative renditions such as “Get Lucky” Gangam Style” “Hoy Tengo Ganas de Ti” and “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”

Mariachi New Era would like to thank all of our friends, fans, and family for all the support. Because of you all, the pain of defeat was remedied by your love. Through this experience, we’ve learned to not just celebrate our victories, but also embrace our defeats. It is what will drive us to be the best we can be.
